DEFENSIVE WOES

With the defensive in-eptitude the Oilers have shown lately, I am un-willing to make a prediction on the outcome of the game tonight in New Jersey. Our defense last night was horrible again last night. The only player that has been consistent is...Theo Peckham.

Now, granted he's not a great defenceman yet, as he's still trying to establish himself early in his career, but he tries every shift, plays with an edge and does not cause egregious errors on a regular basis. He got his first NHL goal last night as well and was one of only two goal scorers in a 6-2 loss to the Red Wings. Congrats Theo!

And what is with all the f@#$%&*g turn-overs? Like Ryan Jones in front of our own net? That led to a goal not two seconds later. Ryan had his stick on the puck, but for whatever reason...could not get it out of danger and coughed it up to Johan Franzen. Taylor turned it over for a goal, Gilbert & Cogliano got beat bad in front of the net. Terrible...

The Game Tonight...

With the Devils of New Jersey tied for last place with our illustrious Oilers, tonight's game will be the best hope to grab two points and add another W in the win column. The Devils are 4-10-2 while the Oilers are now 4-8-2.

We have given up 13 goals in two games with no thanks to the defense I mentioned above. Brodeur will be back in net for the much injured Devils tonight. With an all-world goalie like Brodeur..and our D playing they way they are, I don't see alot of hope tonight.

I will predict Arnott will either score, or record some points against us tonight as we are being killed by ex-Oilers this season. Dan Cleary got two more against us last night in Detroit!

We will have Dubnyck in net tonight which isn't a bad thing based on the fact we are playing the last place team and he needs some starts. Khabibulin has not played well the last few games on this road trip and looks tired.

another 5:00 pm start so...don't forget to tune in to CHED on your drive home from work today so you don't miss another 2-3 goals scored in the first 7 mins of play.

GO Oilers GO!
