LOTTERY PICK HERE WE COME!

Hemsky's Back...

With Ales Hemsky back in the line up, you can tell the offense of this team has improved. Since coming back from injury he's had 1 goal and 2 assists for 3 points in two games. He's made the PP look a lot better on the cycle as well.

Now that Hemmer looks like he's back for good, Omark was sent back to the farm. Something I think is a big mistake. If Eberle, Paajarvi, and Hall all get to learn at the NHL level, why doesn't Omark?? So he made a mistake the other night that led to a goal, hasn't the other rookies also made some mistakes as well? If Omark is going to learn, he has to be able to make mistakes without fear of reprisal. I mean let's face it, this year is about development, not wins / losses. I believe that there are some gaps that Omark could fill, Brule for one.

Have a look at the new Hoodie I bought from Dynasty DesignsIt shows Omark as part of the HOPE for this team.

This is a very cool Hoodie and you can get one of your own for $40.00 from the link above. This is the very first one of it's kind in Edmonton! I know that Dynasty has some more in stock.

Defense First...

It was apparent right from the get-go at the Colorado game that  we miss Ryan Whitney already. Our defense corps was so out of touch in the first two periods, we didn't know which way we were going. All I can say is...Get well soon Ryan!!

With the D being our weakest point on this team, and now...that much weaker, unless we pull a miracle out of our collective asses, we are destined for another lottery pick! Which in my opinion...is the best thing for this team anyway.

Going to the Game Tonight...

There would be nothing better than to start this year with a big can of Whoop-ass for Flames tonight. I would love to see a 8-0 blow out with one of the young rookies getting a hat trick just to hammer home the point of where our future lies compared to the Flames! Now that Sutter is no longer GM, I believe that either Kiprusoff or Iginla will be traded by the deadline this year. And probably both. If Jay Feester doesn't do this then, I doubt he will be GM next season.

By the Way...HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

GO Oilers GO!
